Lynn Viamari is an artist living and working in the Boston area. While her work is rooted in observation, she takes liberties to get to the essence of her subject. She has a deep connection to the exploration of materials and their particular expressive properties. She is drawn to the physicality of charcoal and hand made earth oil paints. These are the primary mediums in her still life, landscape and figure works. Her recent work has been influenced by the study and transcription of historical paintings under the guidance of Lucy Macgillis, as well as time spent painting in Italy with her.
